Paint Outs 2013

Just a reminder to all OPAS Eastern Ontario Members.....the blackflies may soon be history....I hope....so mosquitoes and deer flies are happily appearing ready to take up the slack in unceasing efforts to irritate. Despite the insect aspect, the Paint Out season is here.Any OPAS member can schedule a Paint Out and invite Members and non Members as well, to come and enjoy a day or even a few hours of Plein Air painting. We have so many wonderful places in the Eastern Ontario area just waiting to be captured or canvas or paper or in your sketchbook so please feel free to post your event on the OPAS site.Hoping to schedule one in mid June in Blakeney...details to follow shortly.

Thanks for the feed back on available days.

Week days are really good for me too, especially if a routine can be established.

Pakenham bridge was a good spot today.

When raining Marji and I painted under the first arch and worked a different view or reworked the original view once the sun came out.

Out potential new member Sheila worked on a very technical piece and is fearless !

All in all a good day.

Photos will follow.

Keep you posted for the next opportunity.

I am available either week days  or week ends.

I am leaving for Pakenham shortly.

Hoping the wind pushes this system through quickly.

Hey gang:

It is raining cats and dogs here in Renfrew County and windy.

The weather network's forecast map shows let up after 1 or 2 this afternoon.

I will continue to monitor the forecast maps, and if the area we are going to looks clear for early this afternoon, will probably go for it.

Please use your best judgement.

I would really appreciate knowing if you are only available on weekends or if weekdays are OK as well.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi All:

Thanks for the quick response.

The location is immediately across the bridge in the town of Pakenham, Rt 20 , south from the Antrim/ Kinburn exit of the 417.

There is parking and a picnic area there.

I have chosen 1PM but if folks want to arrive earlier, great!

Hi Christine  - what time were you thinking to meet ?

Hello all:

It has come to my attention that that the Pakenham Bridge Conservation Area is NOT the spot I am thinking of for the 13th of July.

I AM thinking of the down stream side of the bridge that has good parking riverside , terrific view, and easy to spot.

I will be in a silver Jetta station wagon with an OPAS sign.
